Yoga
I am currently studying to become a Yoga teacher. My course last four years and is internationally recognised at University level. I believe it fundamentally important that propsective yoga teachers dedicate themselves to a training course of this type because it allows physical, mental and spiritual assimilation of the philosophy and lifestyle of yoga. The style I am studying is called Viniyoga, and the living master of this school is TKV Desikachar, of Madras (Chennai), India. Viniyoga is diseminated in Europe and Canada by Claude Maréchal. Viniyoga is a word that appears in the first book of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and can be taken to mean "the Yoga adapts to the person, not the person to the Yoga". This fundamental concept makes Viniyoga a particularly safe form of Yoga for people just starting out, and for anyone with physical limitations, including rehabilitation and for Yoga therapy. It also makes is a style particularly suited to my personal perspective of Yoga: that it is a practice that requires dedication and time, that results will come but must be awaited patiently and that anything that hurts or damages in any way is not fulfilling its purpose. I will shortly begin taking small classes at the Costa Blanca Chiropractic Centre. For anyone who reads Spanish, please visit alteayoga.com for more information about my teaching and training. Om shanti peace.
