Music

March '10

I'm making music for beats and breaths with Dani (percussion) and Teresa (keys, winds). We're preparing mantras for a special night on Easter weekend. We started off playing my pop songs, but we've changed focus (for the time being). Jai Laxmi Mata!

March 09

Hmmm...I bought myself a wicked little effects unit called the G-natural. I set it all up and played and had a great time. But time is my enemy right now...I play little in these months. However, I've written what I think is my strongest song ever. Called "the Modern Disease". I'll get it recorded with Tobi one of these fine days.

Dec 08

Ho-hum, I seem to be working very slowly. The stuff I recorded in Toronto didn't thrill me in the end, and what with becoming a mother, then a nice series of live gigs last winter, then getting back to work with the massages, wellll, I haven't got anything new to show you. In Sept 08 I recorded 4 songs with Tobi from Studio Erde. Ok, so now the plan is to record some harmonies and then get 'em finished. Maybe I'll post a demo version in the meantime. I think I need to kick my own ass...maybe the quiet life in altea is too quiet?

May 06

I am currently working on my new full-length album "Lullabyes for Grown-Ups. I am recording some live tracks in Toronto on Monday 26th June 2006 then working at home on the mixing and mastering.
"If we're all alone together then we're not alone."

October 2005

These three songs constitute the Firewater EP, recorded in London in October 2005 with Jon at Lo-fi Criminal.
Black Work Blues.mp3, a dark and thundering song about getting a tattoo in Borneo in the rainy season then limping around like a limping thing when it got all hot and bothered. Of course, I returned some months later to get another one...
Firewater.mp3, a dark and propulsive song that seems to sound like something of the lost lexicon of English folk music, but which was actually written in about 10 minutes when I was in Germany this summer. About two accidents waiting to happen, and what happens when they meet....
Sleepless Blues. Written at 4 in the morning with heavy jet lag on the 26th floor of a Hong Kong high-rise while my gorgeous niece dreamt across the hall. A lullaby for grown-ups.
